Igor Shesterkin suffered an upper-body injury during the New York Rangers’ Friday night game against the Pittsburgh Penguins as he will miss the next 1-2 weeks.
It’s unclear when or how Shesterkin sustained this apparent injury, but he played the entirety of Friday night’s matchup without a trace of anything occurring.
The Rangers have one more game before the 4-Nations Face-Off, as the team will not play again until Feb. 22.
This break comes at the perfect time given Shesterkin’s injury timeline. It has not been determined if the 29-year-old goalie will miss any time after the break.
The Rangers have recalled Dylan Garand in the wake of Shesterkin’s injury.
