Rangers Home Defence Struggles Again versus Weak Blackhawks Offence

The Hockey News

Monday has a condensed slate of NHL action that still should excite all hockey fans with some sensational matchups like the Blackhawks traveling to the Big Apple to take on the struggling New York Rangers in an Original Six matchup.

It should be a great night of games and we look to improve on our recent hot streak with a 30-19 record on game total and team unders this season.

Bet: Blackhawks Rangers Over 6.5 goals (+110)

The Blueshirts made waves through the NHL when trading away captain Jacob Trouba on Friday for seemingly not much in return. New York was looking to overcome a recent losing slump and rebounded with a win over the Penguins on Friday but proceeded to blow a two-goal lead in their following game against the Kraken and eventually lost 7-5 after allowing five unanswered goals.

They will look to respond in what should be a favourable spot against a Blackhawks team that has lost five straight and have just six wins over their last 22 games. New York has loved this matchup in recent history with seven wins over their last eight matchups and a 4.50 goals per game average.

The Rangers offence feeds when playing against the Blackhawks and they should again on Monday as the Blackhawks have been miserable away from the Windy City with 4-9-2 road record this season. Expect a response from the Blackhawks offence however, as the Rangers allow the fourth-most goals at home with a 3.57 average.
