Belleville Senators Game Day Build-Up
Nov.22/24 @ Laval Rocket (NHL Affiliate: Montreal Canadiens)
The Set Up:
Fresh off a record-setting 12-round shootout win in Toronto that got them back in the win column, the Belleville Senators have travelled east for their first game of the season at Place Bell. Angus Crookshank looks to continue his goal-scoring prowess after tallying his team-leading eighth of the season last Sunday, giving him six goals in his last five games. Meanwhile, Wyatt Bongiovanni scored two goals in just his second game of the season. The Senators were the first team to beat the Marlies at home this season, and despite getting points out of 10 of their 12 games this season, Belleville remains tied with Syracuse for fifth place in the North division, though holding multiple games in hand on their divisional rivals, including first-place Laval, who are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to Rochester on Wednesday night at home.
The weekend series will conclude Saturday night back in Belleville for Hockey Fights Cancer Night supporting the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation. The Senators will subsequently hit the road for five straight road games, with stops in Syracuse, Bridgeport, and Manitoba.
Previous History:
This weekend’s games continue a busy November for this Canadian rivalry; Belleville and Laval meet four times this month alone. The teams split two nailbiters in back-to-back games on November 8th and 9th in Belleville, with the Rocket taking a 4-3 decision in a shootout on the Friday night, and Belleville responding with a 3-2 win on the Saturday, buoyed by Malcolm Subban’s first win as a Senator. Belleville’s penalty kill was key in both games, going a combined 8 for 8 against Laval.

There have been no new moves for the Senators since Jake Chiasson was loaned to the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) last Friday. A full list of up-to-date transactions can be found by clicking here, with full lineup details available via the club’s social channels (@bellevillesens) before the game.
