Lucic PTO With Devils Rumors Debunked

The Hockey News - New Jersey Devils

According to a recent report circulating on Twitter/X, the New Jersey Devils and UFA forward Milan Lucic had agreed to an PTO.

After initial reaction from Devils fans on social media, the organization released a statement to their media members regarding the matter.

“His situation lies with the league. We haven’t and couldn’t sign him to a PTO”

It appears that on Edmonton Oilers broadcaster Bob Stauffer’s podcast, he had mentioned that the Devils had agreed to the PTO with Lucic.

“We wish him the best of luck in his PTO that’s coming up with the New Jersey Devils”

It had been reported earlier this off-season that the power forward had been training in the New Jersey area alongside some close friends, one being former Devil, Tyler Toffoli.

Regardless, Lucic’s legal situation prevents him from playing in the NHL until otherwise cleared by the NHL Commissioner. It appears that he has yet to get the approval from Gary Bettman and will remain ineligible to play in the NHL until further notice.
