Jake Barczewski just couldn’t say no.
The Michigan University goalie and O’Fallon, Missouri, native honored each and every ticket request from friends and family before the NCAA Maryland Heights Regional at Centene Community Ice Center over the weekend.
“I just kept getting calls and texts,” Barczewski said.
Barczewski handed out around 50 tickets to each contest. He then went out and put on a spectacular show for his entourage.
Barczewski made 38 saves to help the Wolverines to a 5-2 win over rival Michigan State on Sunday in front of a standing-room-only crowd of 3,148 in the championship game of the four-team affair.
The Wolverines (23-14-3) will face Boston College (33-5-1) in a national semifinal game April 11 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Boston College has been the No. 1 team in the country throughout the entire campaign. The other semifinal will pit Denver against Boston University.

But Barczewski and his teammates are on a big-time roll after knocking off Big Ten rival Michigan State (25-10-3). The Spartans had won the previous four regular-season games between the teams.
Michigan got its revenge by scoring four times in the third period to break open a tight game.
Dylan Duke scored twice, including a scintillating tiebreaking tally with seven minutes, 18 seconds left in regulation. Gavin Brindley then converted on a two-on-one break just 12 seconds later to put the Wolverines in control.
