Shields, Heintz, Rehding, and Stewart Named AHCA All-Americans for NCAA Men's Hockey

GLOUCESTER, Mass. – The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced its 2023-24 Division III Men’s Hockey All-Americans on Wednesday night at the NCAA Division III Men’s Frozen Four reception. The Bulldogs landed four All-American honors including two First Team honors and two Second Team honors. Jaden Shields and Zachary Heintz represented the Bulldogs on First Team while Dershahn Stewart and Mathew Rehding earned Second Team honors.
 
Jaden Shields was a Sid Watson Award Finalist for the Division III Player of the Year. Entering the Frozen Four, Shields has played in 31 games totaling 11 goals and 28 assists for 39 points. He holds a +/- of +26 on the year and has scored twice on the power play and recorded three game winning goals. Shields sits third in career points among active Division III Players with 121. He was also named the NCHA Co-Player of the Year.
 
Zachary Heintz led the Bulldogs in scoring with 18 total goals in 27 games.  He finished the season with 21 assists for a total of 39 points. Heintz has been a threat on the power play has he’s scored eight power play goals on the year to go with three game winning goals. Heintz joined Shields as the NCHA Co-Player of the Year. Heintz is the leader in career points among active NCAA Division III players with 126.
 
Mathew Rehding leads the Bulldogs in points and sits as the NCAA Division III leader in assists with 32. He also ranks second in the NCAA in points with 48 with the help of 16 goals. Rehding has netted five power play goals on the year to go with two shorthanded goals and three game winners. Rehding was named to the NCHA All-Conference Team earlier this season.
 
Dershahn Stewart landed the Second Team goaltender spot as he enters the Frozen Four with 20 wins on the year. He holds a 20-6-1 overall record this season to go with six shutouts. He’s played in 28 games this season making 27 starts. He holds a 1.78 goals against average with a .935 save percentage on 678 total saves. Stewart was named to the NCHA All-Conference Team earlier this year.
 
The four Adrian College All-Americans will look to lead the Bulldogs to their third consecutive National Championship Game on Saturday. Adrian will face off with Trinity College on Thursday at 7:00 PM EST in the NCAA Semifinals.
