The Hobey Baker Award Committee announced today the 10 finalists for this year’s award, presented annually to the top player in college hockey.
The names were determined from a poll of coaches across the country. A voting panel of 30 people, including writers, coaches and scouts, will then vote from among the 10 to determine this year’s winner.
This year’s 10 finalists are:
F Jackson Blake, So., North Dakota
F Macklin Celebrini, Fr., Boston University
F Jack Devine, Jr., Denver
F Cutter Gauthier, So., Boston College
F Collin Graf, Jr., Quinnipiac
D Lane Hutson, So., Boston University
G Kyle McLellan, Sr., Wisconsin
F Liam McLinskey, Jr., Holy Cross
F Sam Morton, Gr., Minnesota State
F Will Smith, Fr., Boston College
Hutson and Graf are the only repeats from last year in the Top 10.
The Hobey Hat Trick (three finalists) will be announced April 4, and the Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced Friday, April 12 during the Frozen Four weekend in St Paul, Minn. The announcement will be televised live on the NHL Network and streamed on the Hobey Baker website at 6 p.m. ET.
