Despite KJS United being without standout goalie Rylan Gibbons, Brian Sisti delivered a huge performance as he stopped 51 shots to preserve a 4-2 victory over Mendham at Mennen Arena in Morristown.

Mendham (8-5-1) got off to a strong start as it held KJS United (9-3-1) without a shot until the final minute. However, KJS made the most of its opportunities as Joey Kopec sunk a shot with 9.6 seconds left to give his team a 1-0 lead.

Although Mendham sported a 34-8 shot advantage after two periods, KJS proved to have a little bit of lady luck on its side as Anthony Prunty tacked on another score to give his team a 2-0 lead.

Freshman Cormac Gibbons recorded the first goal of his varsity career just 17 seconds into the third to give KJS a 3-0 lead before Mendham answered back with a pair of goals from Ian Tamboowalla and Michael Gionco.

Mendham had its chances to tie the game but it was all for naught as Connor O’Neill iced the game for KJS with an empty-net goal.

With the win, KJS ensured it will finish the season with at least a tie for the Halvorsen Divison title. It can win the title outright with one win or tie in its final two games.
