No. 5 BU Begins Weekend Series with Maine Friday Night on NESN

SATURDAY PARKING ADVISORY

The No. 5 Boston University men’s ice hockey team will continue its five-game homestand this weekend when the Terriers host Maine for a two-game series at Agganis Arena. Puck drop is on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m., with the two teams returning to Agganis Saturday at 6 p.m.

Friday’s tilt will be televised live on NESN. Additionally, both games will be streamed on ESPN+, with an audio-only broadcast of both contests located here. Please note that Saturday’s game is scheduled for 6 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • For the first time since October 2017, the Terriers are in the top five of both national polls, checking in at No. 5
  • The Terriers most recently defeated then-No. 15/14 Cornell, 4-3, in a thriller at Agganis thanks to freshman Lane Hutson’s goal with 3.8 seconds remaining in regulation.
  • It was the Terriers’ second straight win over a top-20 team, as they bested then-No. 19/17 UMass, 6-2, on Jan. 11 at Agganis.
  • Hutson, senior captain Domenick Fensore and senior Matt Brown are all nominated for the Hobey Baker Award.
  • Brown leads BU in goals (9), assists (19) and points (28) after assisting on the final two tallies in the Cornell win.
  • Fensore has notched a career-high eight goals, with his most recent marker evening the score at 3-3 in the third period of the Cornell victory.
  • Four of Hutson’s eight goals this season are game-winners, which is tied for second-most in the NCAA.
  • Senior Case McCarthy is the reigning Hockey East Defender of the Week after he led all league blue liners in points (3), assists (3), plus-minus (+3) and blocked shots (6); all six blocks came against Cornell.
  • BU is 15-4-2 in its last 21 games at Agganis Arena, with three of the four losses coming in OT.
  • The Terriers average 3.90 goals per game, which is tops in Hockey East and third-most in the NCAA.
  • BU also averages 36.8 shots on goal per game, which ranks second in the country and first in Hockey East.
