#14 UConn Set to Face #15 Boston College Tuesday

Storrs, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women’s ice hockey team prepares for the road trip matchup against No. 15 Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA Tuesday Jan. 17. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m.  

Entering the matchup, UConn ranks at No. 14 in the DI women’s college ice hockey poll. The Huskies are 15-8-2 overall and 9-7-2 in Hockey East action. Last weekend, they swept both games on Friday and Saturday against Merrimack and No. 11 Vermont in the opening weekend of Toscano Family Ice Forum.  

Highlighting last game against the nationally ranked Vermont was first-year Christina Walker as she scored her first goal of the season while also adding an assist. They ended up winning 4-1. 

Scouting the Eagles 

Heading into the matchup, Boston College is 14-8-1 overall and 12-6-0 in conference play. The Eagles won 3-0 against Holy Cross last Saturday. Leading the way is Abby Newhook who has 12 goals, 11 assists, and 23 points this season.  

UConn will look to repeat its strong performance against Boston College after sweeping the home and home series earlier this season on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5. The Huskies won 1-0 in Storrs and then won on the road 3-1.
