Gabe Shipper Named NESCAC Men's Hockey Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin College first-year Gabe Shipper (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week.

Shipper scored a hat trick against Middlebury to lift the Polar Bears to a 4-3 win on Saturday. In addition to the three goals against the Panthers, Shipper assisted on the game-tying goal against Williams on Friday night, helping spark a Bowdoin comeback in an eventual 5-3 win. Bowdoin is 2-0-0 to start the season for the first time since 2010.

Shipper and the Polar Bears will return to action at the Bowdoin-Colby Classic the weekend after Thanksgiving. Bowdoin will play Johnson & Wales in Waterville on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. before hosting UMass Boston at Watson Arena on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in their home opener.
